How to elope in Bakersfield...

 Many folks want to be married with out all the fuss of having a "big fat wedding". Others don’t want the drama family (or an ex) will bring. Some may be on a budget. Whatever is your reason to elope here is some tips to do it here in Bakersfield.

  1. Choose if eloping is right for the both of you.
  2. Pick a date.
  3. Go to the County Clerk’s office and get a marriage license

    2. The both of you will need to be present.
    3. You will need your I.D. or Drivers license.
    4. The fee of $67.00 for a public license and $80.00 for a confidential.
  4. Find a Reverend, Shaman, Parson or Officiant to preform your ceremony, may I suggest me….lol (661) 477-6643
  5. Pick a location. There are many places in town to have a wedding. Parks, Restaurants, a backyard, the bluffs, on the side walk in front of the fox theater at night, The Kern County Museum, a club, or any location that will look good in pictures.
  6. Pick a time. If you are having an outdoor ceremony daytime will be fine but for evenings you may want to pick a restaurant or other well lit location.
  7. Pick (at least) one adult witness (two is ok).
  8. Have your ceremony
  9. You are married now Celebrate!
  10. I file your paperwork all done. (Other Reverends may vary)
